Job Title : Electrical Test Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Test Engineer to join our team. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis, with a focus on testing and documenting results. The position requires an understanding of circuit design, both analog and digital, as well as expertise in using testing tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters. Approximately 10% of the role involves design work, with the remaining 80-90% dedicated to testing and troubleshooting. Familiarity with design tools such as Altium is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting and perform root cause analysis.
  • Utilize oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies to troubleshoot circuits down to the component level.
  • Document findings by writing detailed test reports.
  • Design and understand both analog and digital circuits.
  • Use Altium for circuit design work.
  • Engage in board layout and qualification, as well as programmable logic and control system development.
  • Design, prototype, and test analog and digital circuits.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and circuit analysis.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience with analog and digital design, board layout, and qualification.
  • Proficient in using hardware testing tools such as oscilloscopes, DMM, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Strong understanding of digital and analog circuits.
  • Experience with PCB design software (Altium, Cadence, or ORCAD).
  • Strong documentation skills for writing test reports.
  • Experience in root cause analysis.

    • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • C1 D1 (class 1, div 1) safety experience.
  • Radio Frequency (RF) experience and knowledge of modems.
  • Experience in RF design.

    • Work Environment

    The Electrical Test Engineer will report to the head of the Hardware / Firmware team, working alongside one entry-level engineer and a couple of test technicians. The position is primarily independent but is integrated with the larger team. The role requires onsite work from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with some flexibility in scheduling.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $72.00 / hr.
