Academic Excellence Test Center & Academic Coaching
Create a welcoming, comfortable learning environment for students requiring additional academic assistance in Network and Computer Support and related course work.
Essential Functions :
- Provide supplemental instruction and individualized coaching to support student understanding and application of core IT concepts.
- Collaborate regularly with faculty and staff to align IT coaching support with course expectations and student needs.
- Support students in developing critical thinking and troubleshooting approaches relevant to IT coursework.
- Coach students in effective study habits, time management, and problem-solving strategies tailored to technical learning.
- Foster a welcoming environment that promotes student confidence, engagement, and academic growth.
- Observe students' performance and record relevant data to assess progress.
- Collaborate with accommodation services, library services, and other academic coaches to develop strategies to optimize student success.
- Attend and participate in various College meetings.
- Collaborate with other Academic Coaches to identify and standardize best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of coaching activities, student engagement, and outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications and Work Experience :
Minimum Associate Degree in computer related field.A minimum of two years related experience.Knowledge of adult learning styles and strategies to maximize learning.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a student-fused environment.Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable under the District's standard insurance policy terms.Skills and Abilities :

Extended Sitting : Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or attending meetings.Mobility : Ability to move around the campus to attend meetings and events.Manual Dexterity : Proficiency in using hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment, tools, or controls.Visual and Auditory : Ability to read documents and communicate effectively with students and staff.Light Lifting : Capability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.Reasonable Accommodations Statement : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
