Position Summary

Sole Hire is seeking an Adjunct HVAC / R Instructor to provide lecture, lab, and / or clinical instruction in accordance with AHED policies, curriculum requirements, and quality standards. This role reports to the Program Chair, Academic Dean, Director of Academic Operations (Online), and / or Campus President as applicable.

This is an on-campus position only ; remote or online teaching is not available.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Deliver engaging lecture, lab, and clinical instruction aligned with program objectives.
  • Follow established course outlines, learning outcomes, and evaluation mechanisms.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed lesson plans and instructional materials.
  • Ensure all students receive graded assignments and final grades in a timely manner (within 48 hours of due date).

Student Support

  • Monitor and record student attendance and retention.
  • Offer academic support during scheduled office hours or by appointment.
  • Advise students on academic progress, school policies, and expectations.
  • Identify and assist at-risk students, referring them for additional support as needed.

    • Operational Duties

  • Attend mandatory meetings and participate in faculty development.
  • Maintain and monitor classroom equipment, supplies, and inventory.
  • Submit supply, textbook, and equipment needs in writing to the Program Chair.
  • Adhere to the institution’s policies, deadlines, and professional standards.

    • Professional Development

  • Maintain subject matter expertise through ongoing training, seminars, reading, and AHED’s required online modules.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and school guidelines.

    • Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate from an accredited HVAC / R program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on industry experience in HVAC / R.
  • Strong communication, instructional, and organizational skills.
  • Prior teaching experience preferred but not required.
