Summary

We are looking to hire a Bicycle Builder. Pay range is based on experience level. We sell both eBikes and traditional bicycles. A passion for cycling, and a proactive and positive attitude are qualities at the top of our list!We love what we do and have fun doing it at our shop. That said, it's hard work and is fast paced. The following list is a must for all new hires :

  • You must be a team player, but also able to work independently
  • You must be a good communicator, dedicated to offering excellent customer service and maintaining open and positive relations with coworkers
  • You must be positive, a good listener and have a lot of patience
  • You must be interested and willing to spend time on continuing education to further develop skills and knowledge (provided by our shop)
  • You must enjoy educating others and building relationships
  • You must be able to keep up in an energetic environment that can sometimes feel hectic and chaotic
  • You must be willing to roll up your sleeves, lend a hand to colleagues and do what's necessary to get the job done.
  • You must be thorough and detail oriented
  • You must be self motivated, proactive, adaptable, dependable and reliable
  • You must have a good sense of humor and zest for adventure

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to :

  • Assemble and prepare bikes for sale.
  • Install accessories selected for bikes (stems, handlebars, lights, saddles, racks, kickstands, water bottle cages, etc).
  • Install new tubes / tires / brake pads, adjust brakes / derailleurs, align / tru wheels, bleed brakes, etc.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, including individual workspace and common space areas
  • Meet or exceed shop production standards.
  • Operate cash register as necessary.
  • Other duties as needed / assigned.

    • Requirements

    Requirements include but are not limited to :

  • Minimum 6 months experience working as a bike builder or mechanic / technician in a bike shop.
  • Experience with current road and mountain bike technology able to keep up-to-date on all technology.
  • Ability to periodically lift 50 pounds

    • Nice To Haves

  • Prior retail experience
  • Knowledge of Ascend POS
  • Has worked in a Trek dealership or Corporate Trek store previously
  • Familiar with the Trek lineup
  • Enjoys group rides and is interested in leading them
