Job Description
The Energy Measurement Department is based out of the Georgetown facility. We apply our knowledge of gas measurement principles and laws as well as utilization of current technology to accurately bill our larger gas commercial and industrial customers. We work closely with and support other departments within Gas Measurement group including Instrumentation, Industrial Meter Operations, and Meter Shop. We have various responsibilities including meter audits and billing of large commercial and industrial gas customers, auditing and tracking compliance work, as well as the opportunity to interact with various departments throughout the company on gas measurement related issues.
The Business Support Analyst is expected to demonstrate knowledge of and support for internal and external reporting. Perform data analysis to measure performance and identify efficiency opportunities. Develop and maintain business rules for functions and processes. The successful candidate will participate in collaborative teamwork efforts to improve day-to-day operations and meet SQIs as mandated by the WUTC, other department key indicators, and corporate goals. Provide leadership assistance and support for department personnel. Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and / or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety. Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.
Job Responsibilities
Provides timely and relevant metrics and analysis for key departmental, operational and financial processes. Works closely with other department analysts preparing operational schedules, forecasts, budget and staffing plans and departmental dashboards. Performs analysis and provides recommendations involving complex business issues. Leads and manages internal and external project teams on various process improvement initiatives and customer service projects. Routinely applies process improvement methodologies to business processes and procedures. May perform emergency duty supervisor rotation and respond to call outs and other company-wide emergencies during core and non-core hours. Coordinates training efforts with other departments to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in business, economics, finance, or related, and 3 years experience in quantitative / qualitative analysis; or equivalent combination of education and / or work experience. Experience working with relational database systems (querying, analysis, reporting). Strong computer skill utilizing MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook). Excellent problem solving skills. Ability to understand and explain technical concepts. Excellent writing, communication and customer service skills. Experience and desire to work in a team environment. Strong time management and organizational skills. Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize assignments.
Desired Qualifications
Working knowledge of WAC rules and tariffs, WUTC rules and regulations. Ability to create a positive work environment.
