What is the Role?

The People Team is seeking an organized and proactive Human Resources (HR) Manager to join us in our Brooklyn office. This position requires a minimum of three (3) days in-person. Working closely with the HR Manager and Director of HR, you’ll obtain and record HR information, manage our HRIS database, and respond to employee inquiries. You will cultivate culture as well as implement our organizational mission rooted in Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice in every aspect of your work. What You’ll Be Asked To Do
HR Functions
- Maintain personnel records for approximately 250 employees and counting
- Stay up-to-date on relevant labor and employment laws, changes, and trends, which includes compliance with applicable federal & state laws and regulatory agencies
- Assist with reporting for the Department of Labor and the Bureau of Labor Statistics
- Contribute to Leave of Absence administration for all staff, including but not limited to, FMLA administration, STD / LTD, and Paid Family Leave
- Participate in onboarding new hires on an as-needed basis
- Participate in processing payroll as needed
Employee Relations
Maintain employee trust and protect sensitive information by keeping operational and employee data confidentialProvide excellent / superior customer service to all CIP staff members, by responding timely to requests and resource needsSupport employees on an ongoing basis by responding to general employee inquiries regarding the Staff Handbook policies, payroll, benefits, and paid time offVisit and co-host weekly office hours at our campuses in conjunction with the HR ManagerAnalyze, respond, and problem-solve employee relations data, primarily leveraging the HR ticketing systemCollaborate with People Team and school leaders on opportunities to collect, analyze, and respond to stakeholder feedbackManage and maintain data systems for employee engagement, performance management, and evaluation; troubleshoot steps for performance management and evaluation tasksServe as a go-to resource for additional support and the coordination of tasks across multiple teamsProactively drive systems of compliance, specifically around teacher certificationAdministrative
Generate monthly employee data reports on an as needed basis utilizing our HRIS, Paylocity; partner with multiple teams to manage staff informationAnalyze and develop people analytics data reports to share critical insightsDraft employee communications, announcements in Paylocity, internal (team-facing), and external (employee-facing) SOPsEdit and update existing policy documents to meet ever-changing and complex needs, in compliance with employment law and our School’s valuesWhat You’ll Need
