Position Overview

Davey Resource Group is seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer with a focus in transportation and roadway design to join our growing team of engineering professionals. This role involves contributing to a variety of infrastructure projects including the design and development of roadway systems intersections traffic control plans and related civil components. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise a collaborative mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that support safe and efficient transportation networks.

Job Duties

• Support the planning and design of roadway projects including geometric layout pavement design drainage lighting and traffic engineering
• Assist in preliminary engineering phases including conceptual and schematic design development
• Prepare detailed design calculations and engineering documentation in compliance with local state (ODOT) and federal standards
• Develop Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) and Traffic Control plans
• Produce contract documents including specifications cost estimates and quantity takeoffs
• Coordinate with internal teams clients and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements and permitting processes are met
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules and deliverables

Core Competencies

Ability to make sound engineering decisions and apply technical knowledge across diverse project types

Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation is preferred

Familiarity with stormwater design and roadway drainage systems

Experience with both simple and moderately complex roadway design projects

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to mentor junior staff and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Willingness to consult with senior engineers and contribute to the development of improved design techniques and workflows
