Emergency Service Head Veterinarian

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Des Moines, IA is seeking a full-time Emergency Service Head Veterinarian (ERSH ) who will work alongside our ER Clinicians, Specialists, and Leadership Team to ensure the highest quality medicine and services for pets and our community.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa is the largest 24-hour emergency and referral center in the greater Des Moines area.

IVRC is centrally located and easy to get to from anywhere in the metro area.

In addition to offering 24 / 7 emergency medicine, we also have board-certified and residency-trained clinicians specializing in cardiology, critical care, internal medicine, oncology and surgery.

The 13,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility opened in 2011. On-site diagnostic capabilities include a CT scanner, endoscopes, ultrasound, chemotherapy, and digital radiography.

What you need to excel in this role at BluePearl :

DVM from accredited university required.

Successful completion of rotating internship or the BluePearl’s EmERge program required.

2+ years of clinical experience required.

Must possess valid applicable DVM licensure.

Demonstrated capacity to multitask and successfully manage competing priorities required.

Prior shift lead experience preferred.

Strong leadership ability with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated stress tolerance and attention to detail.

Strong ability to mentor and train less experienced Clinicians and Interns.
