Restoration Technician Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of damaged properties to identify necessary repairs and restoration work
- Apply preservation methods and techniques to restore damaged materials, such as wood, stone, and plaster
- Perform carpentry, woodworking, and other trades to repair and replace damaged components
- Work with a variety of power tools and equipment, including power saws, sanders, and drills
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Develop and implement restoration plans, including creating detailed project schedules and budgets
- Conduct regular inspections and monitoring to ensure work is completed to high standards
Maintain accurate records and reports of work completed, including documentation of materials used and techniques employed
Restoration Technician Position Requirements
2+ years of experience in restoration or a related field (e.g., construction, carpentry, or historic preservation)Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and preservation standardsProficiency in carpentry, woodworking, and / or other relevant tradesExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work at heights, in confined spaces, and with power toolsStrong communication and teamwork skillsValid driver's license and reliable transportationAbility to pass a background check and obtain necessary certifications
