Essential Job Functions :
Reviews and files Certificate of Analysis (COA) for incoming materials.Assist in shelf-life reviews and bloater evaluation program.Generates COA's for outgoing products.Participate in conducting new-hire and annual Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training & Metal Detector Training.Assist with quality and production procedures audits and interact with personnel to ensure GMP and other standards are met.Perform air monitoring, read plates and record results.Assists during external audits as needed. (Kosher, Halal, Customer, Regulatory)Lead the annual review process and revision of Quality Assurance (QA) programs in the plant.Investigate and respond to all plant quality complaints.Provides support to the environmental monitoring program : environmental, construction, equipment swabbing and communication.Aid in investigations of out-of-specification swab results (environmental or equipment)Perform daily positive release.Assist in investigating Plant Incident Reports (PIRs) or other plant investigations with cross functional teams related to Quality as needed.Product hold and release.Back up for ordering all lab supplies as needed.Responsible for following up on pest control issues as needed.Assists with the Orange Tag program as needed.Perform QA functions within SAP.Perform plant audits as needed (safety, quality)Maintain document control for all components of the food safety and quality system, and ensure the archive meets GFSI requirements.Assist in analytical IR scan (FT1, Foodscan, CEM) equipment calibration and fluid comparisonDevelops capabilities necessary to serve as backup to the QA Supervisor as needed.Performs all other duties as assigned.Position Requirements :
Bachelors Degree in Dairy Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.Minimum 2 years Quality Assurance experience and / or 3-5 years of dairy experience.Working knowledge of computer programs (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, Ariba etc.)Lab and / or product testing experience is strongly recommended.Audit experience is strongly recommendedAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and provide solutions.Strong math and analytical skillsAbility to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays as needed.Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with good time management and organizational skills.Values that align with the Saputo culture : Respect, Teamwork, Openness, Ownership, Commitment, Integrity, Passion.In the USA, Saputo ranks among the top three cheese producers and is one of the top producers of extended shelf-life and cultured dairy products, with a portfolio of well-loved brands such as Stella, Frigo Cheese, Montchevre, Stella, and Treasure Cave.
