WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a Part-time Video News Editor to operate editing equipment and produce images or scenes for newscasts and other programming.

Responsibilities :

  • Organize and edit raw footage into a continuous video story based on scripts or instructions
  • Assemble footage meeting quality standards
  • Trim segments and reassemble into effective sequences
  • Determine audio and visual effects necessary for editing
  • Operate editing systems, titling, video switching, and effects units
  • Select and combine shots for logical and smooth news stories
  • Collaborate with personnel on assignments and effects
  • Maintain editing equipment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills :

  • Fluency in English
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Minimum two years’ experience in video editing
  • Proficiency with editing equipment and computers
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a high-stress environment
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
