Summary

As an emergency medical professional, you will provide immediate medical care to victims of accidents, sudden illnesses, and crises. You’ll deliver advanced life support care in pre-hospital and intra-hospital settings until the patient is safely handed over to the accepting medical facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the ambulance service at public events and provide standby services as needed.
• Document thorough assessments and treatments in patient care charting software.
• Offer care for patients in various crisis situations, including psychiatric, medical, and traumatic cases.
• Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to both emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate advanced medical equipment such as defibrillators and electrocardiograms.
• Assess injury or illness severity and prioritize medical procedures accordingly.
• Respond to dispatcher instructions and drive emergency vehicles safely.
• Administer medications under physician direction through various methods.
• Consult with medical personnel at treatment facilities for further care instructions.
• Clean and decontaminate the ambulance after treating patients with infectious diseases, reporting incidents as required.

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs over short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching are also required.
