Basic Function

Please Note : Kern Community College District accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. Applications submitted will remain active for up to two years. Kern Community College District is soliciting applications for part-time, hourly adjunct instructors. The starting salary range is $66.00 / hour; Hourly rate may vary based on type of assignment and the Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula. Representative Duties

This is for an adjunct pool that will be used to staff part-time adjunct positions.

Bakersfield College is seeking dedicated, experienced, and motivated individuals to provide leadership, engagement, and discipline expertise in continuing to move the program forward in innovative ways. As an adjunct at Bakersfield College, successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to student success through teaching and learning excellence.The successful candidate will be expected to provide instruction in a full range of Health Information Technology and other Allied Health as needed.The primary assignment for Health Information Technology courses will be taught in an online format, but may include teaching courses at various locations, different times, and with different modalities. Bakersfield College offers college courses in the greater Bakersfield area, rural communities, correctional facilities and high schools using the following modalities : traditional, face-to-face, online and interactive broadcasts.Other duties include : participation in student recruitment and articulation of programs for Allied Health; maintaining subject matter currency; developing and revising curriculum; using computer and multimedia technology; assessing student learning and program learning outcomes; collegial participation in department, college, and discipline-specific professional activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree(s) or higher AND two years of professional experience

OR

Associate degree(s) AND six years of professional experience.

OR

the equivalent.

(The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment. Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree.)

Desirable Qualifications : Successful teaching of ICD-10 and CPT coursesExperience with Canvas or other online learning management systemAbility and willingness to participate effectively in college committee work and in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to support students and the college.Ability to provide leadership within the program and on college initiatives to improve student learning.

Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administration in California Community Colleges

AND - A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Note : Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an evaluation service.
