Housekeeper

Providence Living at Pembroke Pines -

Summary :  Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of resident apartments and community common spaces.

Duties and Responsibilities  include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs housekeeping duties in the resident apartments and common areas of the community.

Cleans (dust, dry mop, wet mop, sanitize, scrub) assigned resident apartments and common areas daily according to facility procedures.

Disposes of trash and waste, and other materials in a safe manner adhering to infection control standards.

Maintains par levels of supplies and assists with ordering of products.

Maintains a stocked cleaning cart with needed items.

Keeps utility rooms clean and organized.

Washes and folds resident linens.

Demonstrates knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident in all interactions.

Understands proper use of community equipment and cleaning products.

Possesses sufficient mobility and strength to move freely through the building and to assist transfer or otherwise move residents of facility.

Assists in other areas of the community when needed (i.e. programming, dining).

Interacts with visiting families and guests.

Qualifications :

Language Ability :

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability :

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education / Experience :

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and less than one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Equipment :

Common household cleaning equipment such as vacuums and laundry equipment

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities :

Appreciates the importance of maintaining confidentiality of resident and facility information

Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times in the care and use of resident and facility property
