Patient Escort & Companion Job Summary :

Patient Escort & Companion Responsibilities :

Transport patients to and from medical appointments.

Transport patient’s clothes and property from one unit to another.

Maintain records of activates including the time patient is picked up, time of arrival at a specified area and time of patient’s return to their designated area.

Unit hall monitoring

Escort hospital and ambulatory patients traveling by wheelchair, stretcher, or hydraulic stretcher safely and efficiently.

Assist in transferring patients between beds and transportation equipment.

Assist with transport for patients being discharged.

Escort patients to and from various areas of the facility, including therapy sessions, meals, and activities

Provide companionship and conversation to patients, engaging in activities such as reading, playing games, or watching movies

Assist patients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming

Help patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and comfort

Monitor and report any changes in patients' conditions or needs to the nursing staff

Maintain a clean and organized environment, adhering to infection control protocols

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans

Patient Escort & Companion Requirements :

Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients safely and comfortably

Ability to push wheelchairs, stretchers, bed stretchers and gurneys.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care

Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends
