Our Plant Intellectual Property Practice Group

The Morrison & Foerster Plant Intellectual Property Group is a cross-disciplinary practice group that handles a wide range of intellectual property issues related to plants and other agricultural products. The Group encompasses a unique combination of legal expertise in the patent, licensing, corporate, trademark, and litigation fields.

Who You Are

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in :

  • Preparing and prosecuting patent and plant variety applications
  • Contributing to prosecution strategy
  • Providing technical and legal research and analysis with respect to matters pending before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
  • Providing technical support for PTAB and litigation proceedings

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in plant biology or a closely related field
  • Outstanding writing and analytical skills, and top academic credentials are essential
  • USPTO registration is not required

Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, health / welfare benefits (including parental, adoption, and fertility benefits), flexible time off, and paid holidays. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities / states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following : market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.

    Boston, MA; San Francisco, CA; and Palo Alto, CA annual salary range : $105,000 to $135,000
