Job Summary and Responsibilities
Summary : The Equipment Operator is responsible for Operating heavy & light construction equipment- including backhoes, cable plow, Mini-Ex, Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) & other types of machinery & assures maintenance of these as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned :
Traffic Control set up & tear down
- Ability to drive trucks & equipment to job sites
- Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position
- Maintains company equipment per service requirements and safety guidelines.
- Directly responsible for all personal actions and any personnel, vehicles or equipment in the care, custody, or control.
- Report any personal or vehicle / equipment accidents / incidents immediately to supervisors, corporate and assist in the investigation of same

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and / or QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving recordA class A CDL or the ability to obtain one is preferred but not requiredMust have a minimum of two () years' experience with operating heavy equipment to include horizontal directional drilling, mini excavators, hydro-excavation equipment etc.years of experience in utility construction preferredAbility to lift up to pounds on occasion and up to pounds on a regular basisMust be able to differentiate colors.Must be able to read and understand manufacture's manuals for operating and repairing of equipment and components.Possess general knowledge of construction practices.Knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints is preferred.Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather ( snow, rain, wind, etc.) and work overtime as required.Pass a pre-employment drug screen / criminal background testExhibit personal power and leadershipExhibit self-awarenessExhibit a tendency for continuing education and self-improvementExhibit enthusiasm and determinationExhibit industry awarenessExhibit exceptional organizational skillsExhibit the ability to live the KGPCo ValuesLANGUAGE SKILLS
