The California Emerging Infections Program (CEIP) is a program administered by Heluna Health. It is one of twelve EIP sites nationwide, which serve as a national resource for surveillance, prevention, and control of emerging infectious diseases. CEIP functions under a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is a collaborative effort involving the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), the University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health, and several local health departments.
Under general direction from the Associate Director, the Systems Analyst will be responsible for administering and maintaining the program’s IT systems, maintaining the security of those systems and Program data, and providing technical support to CEIP’s staff in a hybrid-remote work environment. The applicant should possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Work will be conducted at the CEIP Oakland office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Administers Windows Active Directory and application servers, firewall, and staff workstations and laptops.Administers the Program’s Microsoft 365 tenantEnsures that all systems are up to date with the latest operating systems, security patches, and firmware.Trains staff members regarding the use of CEIP’s computer systems.Provides in-person and remote technical support to program staff.Orders equipment and software as needed.Maintains records of recurring software costs and software license renewal dates.Collaborates with technicians from various vendors to resolve technical issues.Attend general CEIP and core staff meetingsJOB QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate for the Systems Analyst should possess :Extensive experience in the administration and troubleshooting of server and workstations in a Windows domain network environment.Extensive firewall administration experience, particularly regarding VPN functionality.Extensive experience providing technical support to end users with a variety of commercial software, ranging from Microsoft Apps for Enterprise (Office desktop apps) to SAS statistical software, and ideally, with the open-source software utilized by the program.Extensive experience as a Microsoft 365 tenant administrator, ranging from user, licensing and billing management, to the administration of tenant-based security settings, to the local implementation of security recommendations from the Microsoft Defender portal.Some familiarity with the administration of virtual machines in the VMware vSphere environment.Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree with 3+ years experience. This may be substituted with 5+ years experience5+ years of experience administering servers and workstations in a Windows domain network environment.Experience with firewall administrationExperience administering a Microsoft 365 tenantExperience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and local implementation of security recommendations from the Microsoft Defender portalExperience providing in-person and remote end user technical support with Windows, Microsoft Apps for Enterprise (Office desktop apps), VPN and Windows Remote Desktop connections.Experience researching software and hardware prior to purchase to ensure compatibility with existing IT systems.Experience administering REDCap databases preferred.Public Health Experience Requirement :
