Truck Driver Apprentice - Residuals (Chilco) - Chilco, ID

Job Description

• POSITION SUMMARY

This role is primarily responsible for the day-to-day transportation of IFG residual products from our mill locations to our customer sites.

• KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :

• Driver is responsible for doing all DOT required pre-inspection and post-inspection on a daily basis.
• Operates truck in accordance with DOT, state and city regulations, as well as all Company guidelines.
• Responsible for following electronic tracking procedures.
• The Driver shall follow all safety rules at all times.
• Experience in adverse driving conditions (gravel, snow- and mud-covered roads).
• The Driver is expected to attend and participate in all safety meetings and training.
• The Driver shall use all prescribed safety equipment that is required to safely do the job at hand.
• The Driver shall report unsafe acts or conditions, injuries and / or incidents to his or her immediate Supervisor or Safety Personnel.
• Work independently with minimal oversight.
• Other duties as needed.

Job Requirements

• REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Recent graduate of a registered CDL training program.
• Valid Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record.
• Skills :
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
• Ability to pass a drugtest, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to sit and / or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distance, and climb stairs.

• Vision - near and far correctable; depth perception

Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, airborne particles (sawdust).
