Job Summary :
The Registered Occupational Therapist will provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, and help patients reach maximum performance level and to use skills learned to the fullest to function in the community within the limits of their capabilities.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Administers and writes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
Maintains timely and accurate patient records and reports.
Directs the assistance of support staff to achieve patients’ functional goals.
Administers treatment programs to increase patients' levels of functioning.
Designs individualized therapy for adult learning-disabled patients.
Provides prevention therapy to maintain functional skills; instructs patients in energy conservation, joint protection, safety techniques for sensory loss, and transferring and visual field deficits; instructs patients' families in personal care for patients, especially proper transfer techniques to avoid back strain.
Develops home programs and instructs patients or families in carrying out such programs.
Participates in patient support groups with other team members.

Must possess problem solving skills to successfully perform job
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong customer service orientation.
Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with other employees, patients, and family members
Ability to travel as needed to perform job
Ability to use tools used to make adaptive equipment.
Education and Experience :
Graduate of an accredited Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards
Physical Requirements :
Duties require extensive standing and walking.
Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and / or transferring patients.
Duties require frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

Job Summary :
The Occupational Therapy Assistant will help occupational therapists provide occupational therapy treatments and procedures. The Occupational Therapy Assistant may, in accordance with state laws, assist in development of treatment plans, carry out routine functions, direct activity programs, and document the progress of treatments.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Selects therapy activities to fit patients’ needs and capabilities. Observes and records patients’ progress, attitudes, and behavior, and maintains this information in client records.
Communicates and collaborates with other health care professionals involved with the care of a patient.
Instructs or assists in instructing patients and families in home programs, basic living skills, and the care and use of adaptive equipment. Implements or assists occupational therapists with implementing treatment plans to help clients function independently.
Assesses daily living skills and capacities of physically, developmentally or emotionally disabled clients. Aids patients in dressing and grooming.
Assembles, cleans, and maintains equipment and materials for patient use.
Demonstrates therapy techniques such as manual and creative arts or games.
Teaches patients how to deal constructively with their emotions.
Attends care plan meetings to review patient progress and update care plans.

Current state licensure as Occupational Therapy Assistant
