Responsibilities
Respond calmly and effectively in emergencies, utilizing appropriate emergency equipment and protocols.
Identify and mitigate safety hazards and potential criminal activity through vigilant patrols of museum facilities and surrounding grounds.
Conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed, accurate incident reports.
Provide both security and exemplary customer service during museum operations and events, including managing traffic and crowd control during special functions.
Communicate respectfully and collaboratively with all staff, visitors, and community members.
Enforce university regulations and established security procedures with professionalism and integrity.
Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters related to security and institutional operations.
Required Qualifications
High School or GED equivalent and one year of experience in a security, fire, military, customer service, or emergency management field OR , an Associate or Bachelor Degree equivalent to experience in related field
Can assist emergency response personnel with maneuvering persons who may be combative, intoxicated, or unconscious, and can restrain someone
Skillset in handling emergency situations and using associated equipment
You can perform life saving techniques such as CPR and First Aid
A valid driver's license and a driving record with less than 6 points
You must pass a comprehensive background investigation, psychological evaluation, physical and drug screening
