Summary :
Our client is seeking an Engineering / Operations Project Manager II to oversee small capital projects or specific phases of larger efforts. Under the supervision of a senior project manager or program lead, the selected candidate will manage the full project lifecycle, from planning through execution and closeout. The work may include infrastructure additions and modifications, cost / schedule / risk tracking, and external vendor coordination.
Responsibilities :
- Manage small scale capital projects or phases of larger projects in accordance with project management processes, policies and guidelines.
- Deliver assigned projects within approved scope, budget, schedule, and within company governance.
- Develop scopes of work and requests for proposals for external contracts as necessary.
- Manage the planning, design, and construction of small scale capital projects (e.g., modifications / additions to facilities and infrastructure) under direct supervision.
- Develop and manage project schedules and issue regular progress reports.
- Establish, track, and control project cost, scope, schedule, and risk.
- Provide quality reporting, cost forecasting, schedule / float management, and change control.
- Participate in negotiations with vendors and contractors regarding work scope changes and ensure that all contract commitments are completed on time per applicable specifications.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or the equivalent combination of education and experienceA minimum of two years directly related professional experience.Experience or formal education in project cost, schedule, scope controls, forecasting and reportingAbility to analyze information, form conclusions and provide meaningful solutionsProficient with the use of technical applications, software, and toolsAbility to motivate and influence others including skills and experience in team buildingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred Qualifications :
Three years related professional experience.Certified Associate in Project Management Credential from Project Management InstituteExperience as an engineer or other technical project supportUnderstanding of environmental regulations, National Environmental Protection Act, environmental impact statement, environmental assessment, State Historical Preservation Office, Army Corp of Engineers, etc.Working knowledge of SAP in cost tracking and forecastingWorking knowledge of Primavera scheduling or other project management softwareExperience in electric utility design and / or constructionKnowledge of the company’s business, policies, procedures, and practicesMust be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without an accommodation.
