Transportation Business Line Lead
WSP is seeking a dynamic Transportation Business Line Lead to drive growth and leadership in the Nebraska market, with a particular focus on the Omaha metropolitan area. This role will oversee all transportation disciplines, serve as a market-facing leader, and act as the Office Lead for a team of 510 professionals. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Regional Transportation Lead to set and achieve business targets, lead operations and culture, and position WSP as a trusted advisor to key clients including NDOT, City of Omaha, City of Lincoln, Douglas County, Sarpy County, Lancaster County, and the state MPOs.
This is a strategic leadership role in a growth market, combining technical expertise, project leadership, and business development to expand WSP's transportation practice while leveraging national business lines and resources.
Your Impact
- Serve as Principal-in-Charge (PIC) and Project Manager (PM) on major transportation projects, ensuring delivery excellence.
- Lead the Omaha office's operations, culture, and growth strategy, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Partner with the Regional Transportation Lead and Lincoln office lead to establish and achieve business development targets.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with NDOT, municipalities, counties, and MPOs across Nebraska.
- Provide technical expertise and collaboration across transportation disciplines, including highways, transit, rail, aviation, and planning.
- Champion WSP's Future Ready approach, integrating sustainability, resilience, and innovation into projects.
- Collaborate with national business lines to leverage resources and expand service offerings in Nebraska.
- Represent WSP in industry organizations, conferences, and community engagements to enhance visibility and reputation.
- Collaborate with other WSP offices across the Midwest District to deliver infrastructure projects throughout the project life cycle.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of experience in transportation engineering, planning, or related fields.Proven track record of leadership in business development, client management, and project delivery.Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.Prior experience working with NDOT and local municipalities in Nebraska.Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.Strong understanding of transportation market trends, funding mechanisms, and regulatory environment.Preferred Qualifications
