Position Summary
The Senior Grant Writer researches, identifies, and secures foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities that support CLIENT’s strategic objectives. This position develops competitive grant proposals, contributes to program design, and ensures the accuracy and quality of all submissions. The Senior Grant Writer strengthens CLIENT’s high-performance culture by modeling organizational values and producing results that position CLIENT as a leader in behavioral health, case management, community services, and early childhood solutions for children and families.
Essential Job Functions
Grant Research, Writing & Management
Manage, write, and submit grant proposals and supporting documents for foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities.
Conduct prospect research at local, state, and national levels for public and private funding.
Present funding opportunity details to CLIENT team members.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
Provide technical grant support to Grant Writers and other team members.
Support program design by researching and summarizing evidence-based models and program components.
Present program design research to project teams.
Collaborate with staff to develop SMART outcomes.
Work jointly with other Grant Writers to produce and submit proposals and supporting documents.
Maintain positive relationships with prospective and current grantors, as well as statewide team members.
Participate in technical training sessions offered by funding agencies.
Stay informed on changes in the grant landscape and proposal guidelines.
Keep management informed of projected, pending, and submitted grant proposals.
Prepare post-award documentation and deliver to all stakeholders in a timely manner.
Participate in grant pre-bid conferences, as needed.
Review funder follow-up reports as needed.
Assist with special projects as assigned.
Team Engagement & Organizational Support
Maintain current knowledge of job-related issues and trends.
Actively participate in departmental meetings, training, and quality improvement activities.
Comply with CLIENT’s code of conduct, policies, and procedures.
Assist with training and providing backup for team members.
Manage multiple priorities, including short-notice projects and emerging needs.
Demonstrate CLIENT’s Common Bond Values in all job duties.
Job Qualifications
Education, Licenses & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in a human services–related field from an accredited university required; Master’s degree preferred.
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Valid Florida Driver’s License (within 30 days of hire) and daily access to a reliable, insured vehicle required.
Experience
Minimum of five years of successful federal, state, and foundation grant writing and administration experience required.
Strongly preferred : Experience in a social services, human services, or nonprofit agency.
Strongly preferred : Experience administering the full grant writing process within a nonprofit environment.
Experience with fundraising and constituent relationship management (CRM) systems.
Experience planning and delivering grant-writing workshops preferred.
Experience providing grant writing support, training, or supervision preferred.
