Title of Role : Quality Manager

Department : Quality Assurance

East West Tea is seeking a talented, passionate, and experienced Quality Manager to join our Quality Assurance team!

The Quality Manager will lead all activities for the Quality and Food Safety team to ensure that products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This position is a leader in promoting a safe, food safety, quality-driven, and efficient culture while serving as a role model of a trusted partner to cross-functional teams.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN :

Quality Management System 50% of time

  • Maintain and verify QMS programs which impact Food Safety and Quality including, but not limited to Food Defense, Sanitation, Pest Control, Process Control, CAPA, Recall, Internal Audit, Nonconforming Materials, and Foreign Materials Control
  • Effectively interact with Manufacturing to ensure all relevant records and reports are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible for product compliance
  • Lead the Food Safety and CAPA team in ensuring investigations are carried out, and corrective and preventive actions are implemented and effective
  • Continuous Improvement 30% of time

  • Identifying opportunities to enhance product quality, improve processes, and reduce defects
  • Regularly inspecting products, processes, facilities to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards and regulations (including GFSI, ODA, Customer, Kosher, Organic, and FDA audits)
  • Leadership and Team Development 20% of time

  • Lead and mentor Quality team by providing resources, coaching, and staffing support
  • Behaves in a way that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of East West Tea Company and supports the ongoing development of the organizations culture
  • WHAT YOU KNOW AND HAVE EXPERIENCED :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences, Food Science, Chemistry, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience within the Dietary Supplement, Food, Drug, Medical or related regulated industry
  • Minimum of 3 years in a management role
  • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems
  • Technical writing ability
