Summary
Position Summary : Under direct supervision of a physician, performs a variety of clinical and clerical responsibilities to assist care providers in examination and treatment of patients. Schedules / registers patient appointments, verifies insurance and performs check in / check out and charge entry functions. Enters pertinent information in patient chart. Essential Functions :
- Administrative Duties : Performs clerical duties necessary to support physician office practice operations
- Clinical Duties : Performs clinical duties such as assisting physician with exams and procedures and preparing the rooms. Ensures instruments and supplies are not expired and are readily available for use. Maintains a clean and clutter-free environment..
- Professional and Teamwork : Displays a commitment to the value of teamwork by building strong relationships with patients, families, co-workers and the surrounding community; and by being cooperative and collaborative in the performance of duties to promote a unified workforce.
Requirements :
Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized fieldCertified Medical Assistant preferred / not required.American Heart Association CPR Certification
