SUMMARY :
The Flowering Manager is responsible for all aspects of managing cannabis plants through the flowering stage, from transition through harvest readiness. This role ensures optimal plant health, canopy management, environmental conditions, and team performance to consistently produce high-quality flower in alignment with production goals and regulatory standards. The Flowering Manager collaborates with leadership across cultivation, IPM, compliance, post-harvest, and facilities teams. The ideal candidate brings strong agronomic knowledge, attention to detail, and leadership skills to maximize yield, cannabinoid and terpene expression, and crop consistency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES .
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of flowering houses, ensuring all plants are progressing through their bloom cycle according to schedule and cultivation protocols.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all flowering tasks to ensure consistency, compliance, and plant vitality.
- Manage transition from vegetative to flowering stage, coordinating plant movement and spacing with the Nursery Manager
- Ensure environmental conditions (light intensity / scheduling, temperature, humidity, VPD, CO₂, and airflow) are optimized for each phase of flower development through both the Priva environmental program and manual manipulations
- Execute canopy management techniques including trellising, defoliation, pruning, thinning, and harvesting in line with SOPs and strain-specific needs.
- Work closely with the irrigation team to monitor nutrient uptake, adjust feed schedules, and prevent deficiencies or toxicities.
- Partner with the IPM Lead to identify and treat pests or pathogens quickly, ensuring compliance with re-entry intervals (REIs) and product regulations.
- Monitor trichome development, plant health, and overall ripeness to determine harvest readiness, coordinate harvest timing with post-harvest teams.
- Maintain strict sanitation protocols for flowering rooms, tools, and equipment to minimize risk of contamination or disease spread.
- Work with the Inventory / Tagging team to track and manage plant inventories using the facility’s seed-to-sale or ERP system, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with state regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of plant health, production numbers, and labor efficiency to optimize resource allocation.
- Collaborate with compliance staff to ensure all activities meet local and state regulatory requirements, including METRC or other tracking systems.
- Participate in strain performance evaluations and provide feedback on yield, potency, growth patterns, and ease of cultivation to support strain selection and planning.
- Lead training programs for flowering staff focused on best practices in propagation, pruning, plant health assessments, and SOP compliance.
- Prepare reports and updates for management related to plant health, labor needs and resource requirements.
- Participate in strategic planning for genetic rotation, pheno hunts, or R&D trials in collaboration with the leadership team.
- Executes Ad Hoc Projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, lifting, walking, standing, some bending / crouching, stooping, stretching, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.Must be able to stand for extended periods while maintaining focus.Must be able to detect product issues, such as spider mite, powdery mildew, and / or botrytis.Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and balance up to 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance) and must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with plants and products.Ability to walk on uneven terrain.Work is performed inside greenhouse facilities exposed to temperatures ranging above a constant 75°ree;F.Work is subject to weather conditions, including rain and extreme hot or cold temperatures.Work is performed in a fast-paced cannabis grow location.May require working rotating shifts with varied hours / day, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.Periodic travel may be required for training purposes, purchasing materials and equipment and required meetings.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Business or other relevant field or equivalent life experience.Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.Quality assurance, quality control with good manufacturing practices (GMP).Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and intermediate accounting and math skills.Ability to anticipate and correct potential problems by regularly assessing and updating protocols.Bi-lingual English / Spanish preferred.Must be process driven, self-motivated, able to develop and work as part of a team and possess strong management, organizational and communication skills.Must be a skilled problem solver and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (excel, word, PowerPoint, etc.), software, Google Spreadsheet, and Google Docs.Must be a minimum of 21 years of age per state regulations and pass a criminal background check.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OR REGISTRATIONS
