Job Title : Plant Controller

Location : Bolingbrook, IL (Onsite)

Pay Rate : $120K-$170K DOE - Must have worked in food manufacturing

We are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Plant Controller to lead financial operations at our SQF-certified frozen food manufacturing facility. This full-time, onsite role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost control, inventory accuracy, and data-driven decision-making at the plant level. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoy working cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead all plant-level accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis
  • Manage inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and updates to standard costs
  • Analyze production costs, yields, and operational KPIs in partnership with plant leadership
  • Support timely and accurate month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Oversee physical inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain high inventory accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and SQF-related financial documentation
  • Act as a key liaison between plant operations and corporate finance
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cost efficiency and financial transparency

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA a plus)
  • Minimum of 5 years of plant or cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience in food manufacturing and familiarity with SQF standards preferred
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory systems, and ERP software (NetSuite experience is a plus)
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work onsite and collaborate closely with plant and cross-functional teams
