Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in The Colony, Texas. In this role, you will manage essential financial processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in handling payments and account transactions. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in cash applications, billing, and collections.

Responsibilities :

• Process and post customer payments, including deposits and cash applications, with precision and efficiency.
• Manage accounts receivable transactions, ensuring all payments are accurately recorded in the system.
• Handle billing tasks related to purchase orders, work orders, and job costing for residential construction projects.
• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
• Monitor and process remittance information from lockboxes and other payment methods.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to address backcharges, chargebacks, and other payment-related issues.
• Ensure timely collection of outstanding balances from commercial accounts.
• Utilize industry-specific systems to manage accounts receivable processes effectively.
• Provide support in handling payments from major residential construction companies.
• Maintain organized records and documentation for audits and reporting purposes. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts receivable functions, including cash applications and billing.
• Familiarity with managing financial transactions in residential construction or similar industries.
• Strong proficiency in handling purchase orders and job costing.
• Knowledge of backcharges, chargebacks, and construction-related payment processes.
• Experience with commercial collections and resolving payment discrepancies.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using financial software or industry-specific systems.
