Job Title : Machine Operator

Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will operate various machines such as lasers, CNC mills / lathes, Angle-masters, and Press Brakes. Your work will involve cutting, folding, bending, drilling, and molding steel for the construction of catwalks, stairs, and other agricultural structures. You will ensure precision by measuring, checking, and signing off on all parts to match production prints.

Responsibilities

• Operate a minimum of three machines autonomously
• Measure and verify parts against production prints.
• Engage in clear communication with detailing, industrial engineer technicians, and others regarding prints, programming, tooling, and equipment issues.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, jib cranes, and other equipment to move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Train others on machine controls, processes, and overall machine use.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a manufacturing plant with variable seasonal temperatures. The plant operates two shifts : 1st shift from 6am to 4 : 30pm, and 2nd shift from 4 : 30pm to 3am, Monday through Thursday, with additional work on Fridays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00 / hr.
