Front Office Customer Service Representative

COMPENSATION : Competitive

LOCATION : University of Michigan Health System, Ann Arbor, MI

JOB TYPE : Full-time

SHIFTS : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM or 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM (Rotating shifts due to job share)

POSITION OVERVIEW :

Join the University of Michigan Health System as a Front Office Customer Service Representative. This vital role creates a positive first impression for visitors and patients. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, professionalism, and a proactive attitude.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Greet and assist visitors and patients upon arrival.
  • Facilitate patient check-ins and prepare rooms for visits.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of rooms post-departure.
  • Provide administrative support and perform accurate data entry tasks.
  • Monitor patient queues in Mi-Chart scheduling system.
  • Provide potential assistance with call center calls as required.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Exceptional communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Mi-Chart scheduling system is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a call center is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Immunization documentation required (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, TB).
  • IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS :

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
  • TB (Tuberculosis) - Negative TB skin test within the last two months.
