As an Assistant Swim Coach, you will report directly to the Head Coach. An Assistant Coach can carry out the vision of the Head Coach by conducting practices, motivating athletes, and providing students with proper stroke techniques. In this role, you will be coaching our Pre-Team and Bronze levels. Pre-Team students are learning how to swim all four competitive strokes legally, as well as other competitive skills such as flip turns, open turns, dives, and underwater kickouts. Bronze students are refining their stroke technique and beginning to use interval training to build endurance.
Responsibilities for this role include :
Ensuring safety by enforcing pool rules, observing swimmers, and responding to emergenciesReport incidents and concerns to the Head CoachProvide first aid and CPR as necessaryAttend training sessions and staff meetingsInstruct students of ages 6-12 how to swim in a team setting, as well as legal stroke techniqueProvide a safe, fun, and engaging class experience for students and parentsCommunicate with students, parents, and staffKeep the natatorium clean and tidyRequirements for this role include :
Providing a cover letter along with a resumeHigh School Diploma or GEDOne year of swim coaching experiencePrevious competitive swimming experience (USA, High School, Summer League, Collegiate)CPR and Lifeguard certificationsAbility to create a 45-minute and 60-minute swim workoutAbility to stand and move around the natatorium for prolonged periods of timeAbility to communicate with athletes and parents regarding training and the sport of swimmingAbility to stoop and lift 20lbsAbility to perform any skill that is required of the swimmers
