This role is responsible for providing technical leadership, driving process improvement, and overseeing the development and implementation of manufacturing methods, tooling, and documentation that support new product launches, scaling, and continuous improvement efforts.
The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on mindset, deep technical expertise, and a strong background in manufacturing environments—along with the ability to guide, mentor, and grow a team of engineers. This position will also serve as a key technical liaison with customers, helping align product requirements with internal capabilities and ensuring strong, collaborative relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and prioritize day-to-day activities of the engineering team.
Review and approve manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
Provide engineering expertise and judgment to support product development and process improvement.
Collaborate directly with customers to understand technical requirements, translate them into process solutions, and evaluate feasibility.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts by identifying resource needs and assigning projects.
Contribute to the hiring, development, and performance management of engineering staff.
Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to maintain robust and consistent processes.
Deliver technical guidance on flowforming, forging, machining, and related technologies.
Evaluate mechanical test data (tensile, hardness, grain size, etc.), monitor trends, and recommend improvements.
Promote and help maintain a strong safety culture with an emphasis on injury prevention.
Skills & Preferred Knowledge
Strong understanding of metals such as Nickel Alloys, Stainless Steels, Maraging Steels, and Alloy Steels.
Familiarity with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods : Magnetic Particle, Pressure, Dye Penetrant.
Experience with mechanical testing : Tensile, Hardness, Grain Size, Salt Fog.
Comfortable with hands-on involvement in fixturing and design assembly.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices.
Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
High mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), MS Project, and Visio.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
10+ years of experience in engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Prior leadership or management experience within engineering / manufacturing teams.
Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards.
Solid understanding of GD&T and process drawings per ASME Y14.5.
