Summary :
Reporting to the VP & Controller, the Director of Accounting will be responsible for all operational accounting and reporting functions supporting all USAC assets. This role will manage a team of six located in our Dallas corporate office.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities :
The expectations, role and responsibilities for this job will include but are not limited to :
Financial Reporting & Close Management
- Lead and oversee the timely and accurate execution of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring GAAP compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions including accruals by monitoring the execution of all accounting processes and controls across the business
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual)
Risk Management
Maintain and ensure an effective internal controls environment and the associated compliance and adherence to SOX 404, including being a significant control and process ownerEnsure that individuals in the accounting and other business departments understand their responsibilities under SOX 404Coordinate with internal and external auditors, prepare necessary reports, and address audit findingsStrategic Impact
Provide strategic financial insights to senior management by analyzing performance trends, patterns and anomalies to support key business decisionsPartner with Financial Reporting to manage and execute SEC reporting of quarterly 10-Q, annual 10-K filings, and technical accounting issuesSeek and implement continuous process improvements across the accounting team and function; develop and drive system changes as appropriate to further enhance processes and controlsLeadership and Organizational Planning
Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting teamStrategically plan for and scale the accounting function's resources (people, process, systems) to support aggressive business growthResponsible for the proactive identification of organizational and operational risks related to accounting; develop efficient processes to manage identified risks as the company grows
