IBM iSeries Systems And Infrastructure Responsibilities

This position is responsible for IBM iSeries Systems and other Infrastructure responsibilities.

Candidate Requirements

Advanced level knowledge of the OS / 400 operating system, DB2 database, security and query skills.

Experienced with installing Cumulative, High Impact PERvasive (HIPER), and Group PTFs

Experience with performing OS, VIOS, Power firmware, and HMC upgrades.

Knowledge of how to troubleshoot ACS client issues running on Windows and MAC

Ability to provide support to development staff as needed

Experience with using RPG change management tool to promote code changes to development, QA and production. Experience with Aldon LMi software a plus.

Experience with managing storage-based replication such as IBM Global Miror. Knowledge

Experience with IBM FlashCopy toolkit and BRMS to manage backup as well as restore processes on the iSeries

Ability to work with end users to troubleshoot and answer technical questions

Ability to manage the relationship with external vendors to resolve problems and repairs

Education, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations and / or Experience

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university required, preferably in computer related field (or equivalent experience)

Strong technical system analysis and problem solving skills

In-depth knowledge of server-related technologies, industry trends, terminology, communications, and hardware capabilities

Effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff

Outstanding project and time management plus customer service skills

7+ years of relevant experience with iSeries System Administration & Operations

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $125,000 - $135,000. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
