Position Title : Speech Language Pathologist 0.5FTE
Length of Work Yr : 9 months with Benefits
Salary Range : $32,397 +

Reports To : Coordinator for Special Education
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Masters degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- Arizona certification
- ASHA certification preferred
- Successful experience in K-8 schools
- Experience in language development of non-native English speakers
- Familiar with augmentative communication devices and instructing students in use
REPORTS TO :
Coordinator for Special Education and School Administrators
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
Screen, evaluate and teach students with communication, language, and / or speech disordersDevelop and implement individual educational programs (IEP) for each student identified for services (preschool-grade 8)Participate on Child Study Teams, Multidisciplinary evaluation and IEP teams, and assist in screenings for potential problems (i.e., hearing screening, Arena screening for preschool students)Maintain attendance and hourly contact recordsObservation, screening, evaluation, and consultation for students who require or may require speech therapy servicesWriting evaluation reports, goals and objectives for students receiving speech therapy servicesMaintain up to date and correct student list, dates of IEP reviews and scheduled meetings, and current copies of students goals and objectivesMaintain effective working relationships with other special education personnel as well as regular education personnel and parentsProvide direct services to students according to a schedule developed collaboratively with the MET teamParticipate with the entire Madison special education team in delivering appropriate services by following state and district guidelinesExhibit the level of professionalism expected of a Speech Language Therapist and Madison employeeProvide services in pull out and inclusive settingsDemonstrate best practices in the delivery of servicesExperience with Augmentative Devices preferredEVALUATION :
Performance will be evaluated by the Coordinator for Special Education with the input of building principals.

Ability to work in a friendly manner and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and board policies.
