DIRECTOR OF SALES & MARKETING

Scintilla EG Holding Company

Location : Hybrid / Based in Marion, Iowa

Reports to : CGO, COO or CEO

Exempt or Non-Exempt : Exempt

Status : Full-Time

Typical Working Hours : 7 : 30am to 4 : 30pm; Some travel required

Role Purpose :

The Director of Sales & Marketing will be a strategic, cross-functional leader responsible for accelerating smart, sustainable growth across all business units under Scintilla EG Holding Company. This leader will unify go-to-market strategies, elevate brand presence, optimize pipeline health, and align marketing and sales execution with the companys ownership-driven culture and long-term value creation goals.

Key Responsibilities :

Sales Leadership :

  • Design and lead a shared sales strategy across business units (e.g., Automation, Electric, Power & Safety), balancing centralized oversight with decentralized execution.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify ideal customer profiles and emerging market opportunities aligned with each BUs strengths.
  • Define and track KPIs for lead generation, pipeline velocity, customer retention, and revenue growth.
  • Implement CRM (e.g., Acumatica or alternative) discipline to ensure visibility and accountability in the sales process.
  • Coach and develop sales talent, fostering a culture of ownership, responsiveness, and results.

Marketing Strategy & Brand Elevation :

  • Own the Scintilla EG and ESCO brand voice and visual identity assuring consistency and resonance with key audiences (clients, partners, recruits).
  • Develop and execute marketing plans that support both company-wide growth objectives and business-unit-specific campaigns.
  • Oversee digital presence (website, LinkedIn, paid / organic media, email campaigns, SEO / SEM).
  • Leverage trade shows, industry associations (e.g., CSIA, SMRP), and content marketing to position ESCO as a thought leader and trusted integrator.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration :

  • Work closely with business unit leaders, engineering / operations, finance, HR, and IT to align growth efforts with resource capacity and operational readiness.
  • Support business development and acquisition efforts with pre-deal research and post-deal go-to-market integration planning.
  • Customer & Market Insight :

  • Lead voice-of-customer efforts to understand buying behavior, satisfaction, and unmet needs.
  • Identify industry trends, competitive threats, and partnership opportunities across core and adjacent markets (e.g., industrial automation, electrical contracting, infrastructure).
  • Qualifications :

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in B2B sales, marketing, or business development (industrial, engineering, or technology sectors preferred).
  • Demonstrated success leading high-impact GTM strategies across multiple divisions or business lines.
  • Deep understanding of CRM and marketing automation platforms; Acumatica CRM experience a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and storytelling skillsable to influence at all levels and connect technical capability to customer value.
