Position Summary :
The Custodian / Mechanic performs skilled maintenance troubleshooting and repair of custodial equipment like buffers vacuums floor scrubbers carpet extractors etc. while also providing a wide range of custodial duties to maintain clean orderly and safe campus facilities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all cleaning operations are supported by properly functioning machinery and tools minimizing downtime reducing disruptions and maintaining operational efficiency across campus facilities.
Key responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance on custodial equipment disassemble machines to repair or replace broken parts including cords motors and bearings and ensuring that all custodial machinery operates safely and effectively. The position is also responsible for managing parts orders overseeing custodial equipment inventory and performing comprehensive asset management through the FAMIS system to track maintain and optimize the use of all custodial addition the Custodian / Mechanic provides recommendations to management regarding equipment replacement or upgrades to maintain operational efficiency and uphold safety standards.
