Heavy Equipment Operator

Aerotek is hiring immediately for a heavy equipment operator in CT! We are seeking dedicated Heavy Equipment Operators to join a rapidly expanding environmental company. This will be a landfill project both at Durham and Shelton, CT projects. This role requires the ability to work aloft, climb ladders, and handle staging / scaffolding and other aerial equipment. You will spend long hours on your feet, working in various conditions such as snow, rain, cold, and heat. The job may also involve working above your head and in tight quarters. Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as Excavators, Bulldozers, Loaders, Skid-Steers, and Backhoes.
  • Perform general construction and environmental labor tasks.
  • Work on environmental remediation, demolition, excavation, dredging, utility work, and landfill cap and closure projects.
  • Read and interpret plans and construction drawings.
  • Utilize GPS machine control when applicable.

Essential Skills

  • 5-10 years of construction experience.
  • Ability to operate Excavators, Bulldozers, Loaders, Skid-Steers, and Backhoes.
  • Possession of a valid RI hoisting license for RI jobs.
  • Possession of a valid MA hoisting license with 1C / 2A designation for MA jobs.
  • OSHA 10 Hour certification.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with GPS machine control is a plus.
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER training is preferred.
  • Ability to travel within New England is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

    Work Environment

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00 / hr.
