Job Summary
The Work-Study Student will support the Financial Aid Office and the United Way of Coastal Empire's 211 Program as a Call Center Specialist in the Savannah area beginning Fall 2025.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities
- Use active listening and interviewing skills while speaking with callers in order to uncover needs
- Work independently as a resource to callers and also collaboratively as a member of the 211 call-center team
- Demonstrate empathy in serving people in need while maintaining a positive attitude
- Maintain sensitivity and professionalism while speaking with people from a variety of socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
- Use problem solving skills to help callers prioritize needs and find appropriate referrals
- Match callers to available resources
- Maintain accurate and complete call records for each call received and record direct assistance within the I&R database(s) and software platform(s)
- Demonstrate and maintain proficiency in effectively using call center database software, computer hardware, and telephone equipment.

Educational Requirements
Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.Other Required Qualifications
