About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Security Project Manager to lead critical projects that protect the infrastructure, systems, and operations of a leading utility provider. This role is ideal for a security professional with deep expertise in utility sector operations, compliance (NERC CIP), and risk management , who thrives in high-stakes environments where safety, reliability, and resilience are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver large-scale security initiatives across substations, transmission, and distribution assets.
- Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, including planning, budgeting, execution, and reporting.
- Oversee the implementation of physical security systems (access control, surveillance, perimeter protection) and cybersecurity programs (SCADA / OT protection, smart grid security).
- Ensure compliance with NERC CIP, FERC, DHS, and state-level requirements .
- Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments for critical infrastructure and develop mitigation strategies.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, IT, operations, regulatory affairs) and external vendors to deliver secure, cost-effective solutions.
- Act as the point of contact with regulators, law enforcement, and emergency response partners .
- Mentor and guide junior project managers and security team members.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in security project management, preferably in the utility / energy sector.Proven success managing multi-million-dollar projects in both physical and cybersecurity domains .Strong knowledge of NERC CIP standards, utility compliance frameworks, and risk management practices .Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.PMP, CISSP, CPP, or equivalent certifications strongly preferred.
