Job Description

We are looking for an experienced HR and Payroll Administrator to oversee human resources and payroll operations for a dynamic team in Carol Stream, Illinois. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who excels in managing employee benefits, processing payroll, and supporting onboarding activities. The position offers flexibility with a guaranteed 30 hours per week, with potential to expand hours based on workload.

Responsibilities :

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 100 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company guidelines.
  • Manage employee benefits using Employee Navigator software, including assisting with open enrollment and benefits administration.
  • Support onboarding processes, including background checks, drug screenings, and employment verification.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to coordinate activities for new team members and maintain effective communication.
  • Audit payroll and prepare payroll journal entries to ensure proper accounting and reporting.
  • Handle field service technician payroll, including premium rates and guidelines specific to their roles.
  • Maintain legal forms and documentation to ensure compliance with HR policies and regulations.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, including organizing weekly celebrations and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct interviews via Teams and onsite tours, utilizing behavior-based assessment techniques.
  • Provide administrative support for HR functions such as W9 processing and compensation management.
  • Proven experience in HR administration and payroll processing for small to mid-sized teams.
  • Familiarity with Paylocity or similar payroll software.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits administration and open enrollment processes.
  • Ability to conduct thorough background checks and drug screenings.
  • Proficiency in managing payroll audits and preparing journal entries.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate onboarding and employee engagement.
  • Knowledge of legal forms and compliance requirements within HR operations.
