POSITION SUMMARY
Servtech, a Roeslein Company, is seeking an Electrical Designer / Drafter II to join our team in the energy, mining, industrial power markets, and Integrated bio-energy solutions. This individual must desire to perform quality work safely, be detail-oriented, and have superior customer focus. This individual must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Attention to detail, with the ability to create a quality and accurate electrical design and drawing set.One or more years of experience in CAD design and production of electrical design documentsProficient in SolidWorks Electrical or AutoCAD Electrical with direction from upper managementSome working knowledge of electrical control schematics and wiring diagrams for motor controls, and process controlFamiliarity with design / layout of PLC Panels, enclosures, logic and I / O components, wiring, wiring duct, HMIs, wiring, terminal blocks, and other equipmentSome ability to read and understand schematic drawings, one line, and electrical data sheetsMust have some understanding of conceptual and design process skills and good problem-solving abilityCapable of recognizing conflicts and discrepancies in a panel layout and / or schematic drawing with help from upper managementThe ability to follow directions is key, both verbal and writtenMust have the ability to communicate clearly with others, both verbally and in writing, and not be hesitant to ask questions and seek directionFamiliarity with control panel layout, UL 508 / A standards, PLCs, and networkAssist in the development of panel layouts in 2D drawings from sketches provided by engineers and senior design staffAssist in the preparation of panel details for quote / bid, with the project engineer's or project manager's guidanceRecognize and communicate design conflicts and / or changes promptlyKnowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements to produce drawingsAbility to accurately estimate time completion of assigned tasksAssist in the quality checking of your drafted product and conformance with drawing production requirementsSupport other designers to meet project goals and deadlinesMust follow training and company procedures.Must be a leader who represents the organization with the ability to be a liaison to our customers, adhere to company standards, and resolve issues with urgency and professionalism.Must follow good housekeeping practices.Must comply with Roeslein & Servtech’s core values for the safe and efficient operation of the business and the commitment to maintain respectful relationships with all employees.Performs all work in compliance with company standards, does not deviate from policies and procedures, and adheres to regulatory requirements.Safety is essential at Servtech and all safety training classes must be completed with a 100% pass rate.Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.Performs other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
A High School Diploma or G.E.D. is strongly preferredAn associate's degree in computer-Aided Drafting, Applied Science, or related technical education is preferredAt least 1-3 years of experience in conduit schedules and layout work, cable tray schedules and layout work, schematics, power one-lines, and field verification and auditing experienceExp erience with engineering, manufacturing, and / or oil and gas environments is strongly preferred.Must have Solidworks Electrical or AutoCAD Electrical experience.Must be able to identify and resolve problems promptly.Must be able to handle several tasks with confidence.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are required.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is required.Excellent organization and planning skills.Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.Strong computer skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based programs are required.Help to perform all aspects of the design and drafting of electrical assignments using experience, knowledge, and practical design methodsKnowledge of basic drafting skills is strongly preferredDevelop neat, well-organized drawings meeting established standardsExcellent communication skills; both oral and writtenIn-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based programs is requiredRequires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilitiesWORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in an office and in an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions such as dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures or short periods is possible. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
