Microsoft Silicon Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission. SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions. As Microsoft’s Silicon and Cloud Hardware Infrastructure (SCHIE) business continues to grow, delivering new offerings on time, at scale, with high quality and optimized cost is critical. To achieve this, the SCHIE Product and Procurement Optimization (SPPO) team plays a key role in defining and implementing portfolio optimization processes and controls that enable effective management and delivery of silicon hardware development, including fleet hardware for Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure.

The SPPO (SCHIE Product and Procurement Optimization) team is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer, to drive complex hardware initiatives. This role requires a profiecient background in hardware product development, including silicon and platform design, combined with strategic thinking, business acumen, and a bias for action. The perfect candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, builds great partnerships across senior leaders and engineering teams, and brings proven experience collaborating with hardware and software engineers. Expertise in technical program management, engineering process optimization, vendor strategyand the ability to execute with precision in an evolving environment are essential.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications :

• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience.
• Experience in hardware product development(Silicon and Platfrom development) across global engineering teams.
• 3 years of experience in technical program management, implementing engineering processes, driving continuous improvement to deliver operational efficiency.
• PMP® certification or equivalent process improvement credentials (e.g., Lean Six Sigma / Agile, or related frameworks)
• Advancedproficiencyin Excel and Power BI with great data analysis capabilities and the ability to translate complex data into clear, business-relevant insights.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings :

Preferred qualifications :

Hardware Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
