Software Engineer

Location : Washington, DC

Required : US Citizen

Software Engineering

  • Functional Area 1 covers the full life cycle of software system development, including process definition, requirements management, design, quality assurance, testing, software architecture, and more.

Position Description : The Software Engineer reviews and analyzes system specifications [1-4].

Responsibilities :

  • Reviews and analyzes system specifications.
  • Prepares programming specifications.
  • Analyzes existing systems / subsystems for reusability benefits and needed changes.
  • Prepares design plans and written analyses.
  • Prepares unit and test scripts.
  • Prepares documentation.

    • Education :

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree .

    • Experience :

  • General Experience : The proposed candidate must have at least three (3) years of experience as a software engineer [1-3, 9].
  • Specialized Experience : The proposed candidate must have at least two (2) years of experience working with Ada, SQL, or third / fourth generation languages in the design and implementation of systems [1-3, 10]. Additionally, requires one (1) year working with Database Management Systems (DBMS ).
