About your team / Ko te tīma Led by the Manager Data Operations, this team is responsible for building and maintaining the data assets to meet WorkSafe's data, insights and intelligence needs. The team is going through an exciting period of transformation as we work to adopt modern data operations ways of working – and explore ways of combining the varied disciplines within the team to create something greater than the sum of our parts. About the role / Ō te tūranga This role is responsible for providing technical expertise related to data infrastructure development. This involves collaborating across Insights and Evaluation and Digital Information and Services to design, construct, install and maintain the systems that allow for the seamless flow, availability, and reliability of data. - Design and maintain secure, scalable data pipelines to support public services
- Ensure data integrity, privacy and compliance with government standards
- Collaborate across departments to enable evidence-based policy and service delivery
- Support data integration from diverse sources to improve transparency and efficiency What You'll Bring / Ko ngā pukenga ōu
- Strong experience with Azure Synapse, PySpark and data orchestration tools
- Familiarity with government data standards, privacy frameworks and cloud platforms
- A commitment to public service and ethical data use

Salary range / Awhe utu As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $119,001 to $156,778, and our expected starting base salary for the right person is from $119,001 to $131,593. Note : KiwiSaver / SSRSS employer contribution is additional too / on top of your base salary.
