Salary :

Position Title : Applications Engineer

Department : Applications Engineering Group

Report To : Applications Engineering Manager

PRIMARY DUTIES :

Accomplish all elements associated with soliciting and obtaining purchase orders for high technology automation equipment and related projects. Plan, organize, implement, and analyze all project related activities to accomplish project specific, as well as corporate goals and objectives. Promote an environment that encourages innovation, creativity, challenge, continuous improvement, and achievement while recognizing and optimizing everyones expertise, talents, and experience.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

Solicit and / or respond to requests for quotations from new and existing customers.
Meet with customers, gather and analyze RFQ information, develop concepts, generate pricing worksheets, prepare proposals for formal presentations.
Follow up with customers to secure project orders
Initiate project kick-off meeting with project team, interpret specifications & proposal.
Provide project team with guidance and commercial support throughout duration of project.
Provide support for project modifications affecting project scope, price, or delivery
Evaluate and analyze new technologies, products, and trends
Support development of new promotional / collateral materials
Provide various engineering and marketing functions as required to support the Applications Group
Travel as required to support customer development and new business opportunities.
Support / participate in trade show exhibitions or advertising campaigns as required
Other duties not listed above to assist others on the team, to improve Genesis Automations support systems, meet or exceed customer expectations, and meet departmental and corporate goals.

REQUIREMENTS FOR QUALIFICATION :

S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, from an ABET accredited university or an equivalent experience.

Strong communication skills, extensive experience with direct supplier and customer contact.

Strong time and resource management experience - directing projects, engineers, team members.

Strong organizational skills - attention to detail - disciplined.

Results-oriented - dedicated to meeting / beating schedules and budgets.

Able to travel nationally and internationally.

Valid drivers license

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE :

Strong drafting skillsread and create drawings and sketches.

Cad Software literacy in SolidWorks, AutoCAD

Office software literacy Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Ability to perform all physical tasks related to position, climbing on and around machinery.

Working at a desk, walking about the facility.

Exposure to noise, dust, and temperature changes while in customers facilities.

TRAINING PROGRAM :

Off-site seminars, formal training as appropriate

On-site training daily

COMMUNICATION :

Communicates with Genesis project team members, customers, and suppliers
