LHH is assisting our Indy based healthcare client in their search for a qualified Senior Accountant to add to their team. The Senior Staff Accountant will serve as a central driver of Finance operations, treasury management, month-end close, regulatory reporting, and strategic execution. This role carries independent decision-making authority, process ownership, and visible influence across both culture and leadership alignment. Job Description

Strong understanding of treasury operations, general ledger systems, and regulatory reporting
Experience with Medicare cost report, Form 990, grant compliance, audit coordination, and financial modeling preferred
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare related journal entries
Ensure accounting functions are conducted in compliance with GAAP
Assist with timely and accurate financial closes
Identify opportunities for process improvement

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within healthcare or nonprofit sector

Critical thinker. Results-oriented. Strong problem-solving skills.

Self-motivated, able to deal with change, and demonstrate a proficiency for collaboration, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.

Prior experience in an FQHC, CMHC, or grant-funded healthcare environment is strongly preferred
