Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified and Orton-Gillingham Certified Tutor to provide specialized literacy instruction to students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties. The ideal candidate will have expertise in structured literacy interventions and a strong understanding of multisensory teaching methods.
Responsibilities :
- Provide individualized, structured literacy instruction using the Orton-Gillingham approach.
- Adapt and implement lesson plans tailored to each student's needs, learning pace, and abilities.
- Utilize multisensory strategies to enhance phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, and comprehension.
- Track and document student progress through session notes and progress reports.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school representatives, and Einstein Tutoring's management team.
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions and adhere to Einstein Tutoring's policies and procedures.
- Follow each student's IEP (if applicable) and collaborate with school staff when necessary.
- Ensure timely attendance and proper documentation of all tutoring sessions.
Qualifications :
Must be Orton-Gillingham Certified (Associate Level or Higher).Must be located in Massachusetts.Must be available during school hours (Monday-Friday).Experience working with students with dyslexia, reading difficulties, and special education needs is required.Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field preferred.Strong understanding of phonics-based and structured literacy interventions.Ability to create engaging, multisensory lesson plans tailored to individual students.Must be reliable, organized, and able to work independently.Must have access to a computer with a stable internet connection for virtual sessions (if applicable).Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working in school districts or special education settings.Knowledge of additional evidence-based reading programs (e.g., Wilson Reading, Lindamood-Bell, Barton).Experience in progress monitoring and report writing.
