Who are we looking for

At GHD we are looking for a new Graduate Environmental Professional to join the Contaminated Site Assessment and Remediation team at our Detroit this role you will research design plan and perform engineering duties in the prevention control and remediation of environmental hazards using various engineering disciplines. Work may include waste treatment site remediation or pollution control technology.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in :

• Field Work : Opportunity to respond to environmental emergencies / emergency response to perform field tasks.
• Data Collection and Analysis : Collate and analyze data using preset tools methods and formats. Involves working independently.
• Engineering Drawings : Create engineering drawings to support the communication evaluation and implementation of engineering solutions.
• Engineering Solutions Design : Contribute to the development of and implement feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.
• Health Safety and Environment : Follow the organizations health safety and environment (HSE) policies procedures and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action escalating serious issues as appropriate.
• Technical Developments Recommendation : Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website / portal / software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users needs.
• Personal Capability Building : Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology external regulation and industry best practices through ongoing education attending conferences and reading specialist media.
• Testing : Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards.
• Research : Support others by carrying out a range of research activities.
• Waste Management : Support waste management efforts aiding in waste reduction programs waste segregation storage transportation and disposal.
• Technical Troubleshooting : Support technical troubleshooting efforts aiding in the quick and accurate identification analysis and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.
• Project Management : Support others by carrying out a range of project management activities.
• Client & Customer Management (External) : Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
